Signing of the 4NEW project contract
According to government plans, Poland’s nuclear sector is expected to grow rapidly by 2040. A potential shortage of personnel is identified as one of the most significant barriers to the effective development and maintenance of the nuclear sector.
Inadequate competency preparation within enterprises may, in turn, be a significant obstacle to strong investment commitment from domestic industry and service institutions. Proper support for educational, expert, and institutional resources may offer an opportunity.
The project addresses the strategic challenge of preparing and securing national human resources and competencies for the construction and operation of nuclear energy.
The aim of the 4NEW project is to develop a coherent, knowledge-based model for the development of competencies and personnel in the nuclear sector, taking into account three pillars: secondary education, higher education, and a training system for companies.

A consortium was established to implement the project, including research and development institutions with expertise well-suited to the project’s challenges, as well as the Ministry of Industry, responsible for shaping national policy in the field of nuclear energy and capable of coordinating activities between industry, public administration, and education.
